This is the fifth time that LIM Medical Center offers free of charge mammography tests. The examination is aimed at women aged between 50 and 69 that are insured in the National Health Insurance Fund and have not had mammography done over the last 24 months.

The examination will be carried out using a state of the art General Electric mammograph, which fullfills all the requirements with respect to the safe applying of ionising radiation for medical purposes. During the examination the patient's breast is placed on a small mat and pressed with a plastic plate from above and from sideways - thus two images are obtained. The pression only lasts a few seconds.

No special preparing is required, although one should not use deodorants, talcs, creams or lotions in the the upper body part on the day of the examination.

An appointment with a doctor can be made in person at the registration desk or by calling phone number (22) 458 70 00. It is necessary that a patient gives her PESEL number during the call. The examinations will be performed at the LIM Medical Center outpatient clinic in Al. Jerozolimskie, Warsaw (Marriot Bldg, the entrance at LIM Gallery). The treatment room is on the 10th floor. The action will last until further notice.
