Health and education at LIM Medical Center

A successive edition of the ‘Return to school’ action will start in early September: the action is addressed to preschool and school-age children – aged over 3 years. On a visit to a doctor or to a treatment room, the small patients will be offered to choose from school equipment items such as notebooks, colouring-designed books, coloured pencils or crayons as well as slipper carrying bags*. These items feature interesting health-related facts:

Knitting one’s eyebrows requires about 40 different muscles to be set in motion, but smiling only involves half of them.

A human during his/her 70 years of life sleeps on average for 23 years, eats for 6 years and speaks for 13 years.

Do you know that eating carrots -- containing vitamin A -- improves one’s ability to see in darkness?

The action, which is organised for the third time, met with an enormous approval from the parents and aroused the children’s interest. The idea for the action emerged from the belief that health education should start at an early age and be provided in an attractive manner. Small children are often afraid of their visit to a doctor, Thus, the action is designed to make their visit more agreeable, to enable them becoming accustomed to visits to a doctor’s surgery and instil in them concern for their health. The teddybears featured on the school equipment items have been photographed specially for LIM Medical Center by Margaret B., the only photographer of teddybears in Poland (www.teddybears.pl)..
May the concern for health become a pleasure and illness prevention start at an early age.

  • The action will last until the school equipment is in stock.
