History
The company
LIM Medical Centre, established 18 years ago, was one of the first non-public medical facilities providing services for both individual and corporate clients. In 1991 a group of doctors and nurses of the ‘Polish Airports’ State Enterprise clinic decided to establish the Medical Cooperative. At that time very few believed in its success. Starting a business was risky, yet motivation, commitment and the will to work for healthcare were definitely stronger. In the 90s not many people could afford paid medical service, not to mention buying medical subscriptions for employees
Name and logo In 1997 along with the economic development, the Medical Cooperative was transformed into Medical Centre Ltd. The name was changed mostly because the modern and advanced outpatient clinic located in Warsaw Marriott Hotel building was nothing like a medical cooperative typical for the PRL. The name was changed again in 2002 into LIM Medical Centre Ltd. which was related to the name of the place where the company’s most representative clinics were located – the LIM gallery in the Marriott building. Patients themselves started to use that name first and the board decided to make it official. From the beginning the company logo was being modified only with a new element of the name, yet it is not impossible that the changes will soon be more radical…
Activity
At first, the clinic was located only on the 3rd floor of the Warsaw Marriott Hotel. However, an interest in non-public medical service was increasing each year and thus one clinic proved to be insufficient. In the years 1999-2000 two brand new, fully equipped outpatient clinics were opened. LIM Medical Centre gained new locations on the 9th, and in 2002 as well on the 7th and 10th floors of Warsaw Marriott Hotel. In 2003 two new outpatient clinics were opened – in Cracow and in the seat of the ‘Polish Airports’ State Enterprise. The opening of the first clinic outside Warsaw helped LIM Medical Centre to become recognized on the non-public healthcare market as well to be a competition for other medical centres. In 2005 the development of the network of clinics continued and two new facilities in Poznań and Wrocław were opened. In 2006 an eighth consecutive outpatient clinic in Warsaw was created. In 2007 three new clinics were opened – the second consecutive in Cracow, third in Wroclaw and the first in Łódź. In 2008 the company opened another Warsaw clinic which offers a developed paediatric section as well as a rehabilitation module. LIM Medical centre has been developing through re-investing the profits thus being able to improve organizational processes, build an IT structure and to create the Consortium of Medical Centres which today includes over 300 business partners in Poland. Additionally, LIM was the first medical centre to co-operate with insurance agencies.
The staff
Medical service, no matter how attractively promoted or how elegant the clinic’s interior design, would be nothing without its doctors and the staff. It is their work that the patients’ satisfaction is dependent on LIM Medical Centre has a great personnel - both doctors and nurses. Outpatient clinics co-operate with a group of specialist medical doctors who are constantly improving their qualifications.
