How to correct one’s looks
Aesthetic medicine is a new, rapidly developing branch of medicine. Aesthetic medicine is not a separate specialty, it is performed by specialists of many various specialties, mainly surgeons and dermatologists. Aesthetic medicine owes its rapid growth to constantly raising patients' needs and expectations which force the development of new technologies.
Aesthetic medicien procedures are aimed at improving beauty through both correction of shape and removal of defects, and anti-aging treatment.
Chemical peels
- the procedure consists in the peeling off of the external skin layer (corneal layer) and is performed in order to:
- improve skin colour and elasticity (the so-called 'a good night's sleep effect')
- reduction of superficial wrinkles
- reduction of small keratosis disorders ï€ i.e. of keratosis pilaris on arms and face
The procedure may be one-off or repeated every 1 or 2 weeks.
- glycol acid (50%, 70%), pyruvic acid
- peeling off of all the skin layers, performed in order to rejuvenate skin, reduce seboerhea, reduce post-acne scars.
Peeling with Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) of various concentration. Depending on the number of layers of acid spread on a face, in addition to all the previously mentioned benefits, application of TCA provides good results in hyperpigmenatation treatment.
Contraindicationcon for all chemical peels is skin with broken blood vessels or purulent infection in the places which are to undergo peeling.
Sun exposure should be avoided for minimum 3 months after treatment.
Fighting wrinkles
The preparation used for filling up wrinkles is hialuronic acid of non-animal origin (likehood of allergy is very small). In the natural environment, (in skin), hialuronic acid located between cells absorbs water, thus increasing skin volume and elasticity. Once injected under wrinkles reacts the same. Depending on wrinkles depth, various concentrations of hialuronic acid may be used: 18, 24, 30.
The procedure is safe and may be performed under anaesthesia. The likehood of any complications is small and the results can be seen on the very next day. Hialuronic acid is used for feeling mainly:
- wrinkles around mouth and on the chin
Removal of mimic wrinkles
this treatment consists in injection of botuline (Botox, Desport preparations) into the muscles responsible for formation of wrinkles. Bituline temporarily reduce the contractions of the facial muscles that cause frown lines for 6 to 9 months. After that period of time, your frown lines will begin to reappear as the effects of botox wear off. One procedure takes 10 to 20 minutes. The most popular treatments include:
In rare cases botuline may be administered into the neck muscles.
Skin nutrition - Mezotherapy
This procedure consists in the introduction of small amount of medical preparations intracutaneously, up to 4 mm deep. Composition of the preparation depends on the effect that we want to achieve:
- improvement of facial and breastbone area skin (low density hialuronic acid or embrioblasts. This procedure is called mezolift)
- stimulation of a hair follicle, nourishes hair (vitamins, mainly biotin)
- cellulite treatment (through increase of the subcutaneous tissue fatty cells metabolism; mixtures stimulating microcirculation are are selected individually).
If a mezotherapy treatment is to be effective, it should be repeated several times. A mezolift therapy should be repeated 3-4 times, in case of balding treatment - approx. 10 times, and in the case of cellulite, treatment should be repeated for a period of few months.
Lips enlargement
Lips enlargement is based on the application of high density hialuronic acid. Depending on a patient's expectations, various volumes of acid can be used to provide a patient with lips of the desired size. The procedure takes up to 15 minutes and is performed under local anaesthesia. The effect can bee seen on the next day, after the swallowing is gone.
Excessive perspiration treatment
Excessive perspiration in armpits, hands or feet may be stopped by injection of botuline near sweat glands. Botuline is administered intracutaneously, following a local anaesthesia. In the case of treatment of excessive perspiration of feet or hands, sometimes an anesthesiologist's assistance is required.
