The rules of a rational diet:

1. Eat raw or cooked vegetables

2. Pick low-fat products

3. Eat skimmed (0.5% fat) milk, yoghurt or kefir. Cut down on hard cheese.

4. Eat lean meat and cold cuts; always remove skin from poultry.

5. Replace frying with boiling or roasting in an aluminium foil wrap.

6. Give up sauces, roux or mayonnaise.

7. Give up or limit butter and margarine intake.

8. Give up or limit sugar intake.

9. Fruits are the healthiest dessert. Remember that many sweets contain lots of fat.

10. Avoid fast food (burgers, chips, pizza) because they contain lots of fat.
